Ep 22 ☺️ The Metrics, Systems & Symptoms to Finally KNOW You’re Doing Enough!

How to Know When You’re Doing Enough

Recently, I was speaking with some peers, and they were all asking me:

“How do you know when you’re doing enough?”

And I was like, “Oh, that’s easy. I do this, this, this, and this.” And in my head, I was like, doesn’t everybody have systems around enoughness?

And I realized—no, they don’t.

And the reason I have them is because for most of my time running multiple businesses, I didn’t feel like I was doing enough.

I’m human. I’m not going to lie to you and be like, “Oh yes, I’ve cracked the code and I feel like the highest achiever all day, every day.” No. But I have created systems around my expectations of self and output and results so I can actually check out of work on the weekends and exhale.

So this episode is going to be so, so yummy. I’m going to be talking about the metrics, the systems, and the symptoms to finally know you are doing enough.

Let’s Ground In

Let’s take a breath together.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Spread your toes.
Soften your knees.
Widen your shoulder heads.
Slide your elbows down your waist.
Take a deep breath in through your nose…
Ahhh. Let it go.

What Even Is “Enough”?

According to dictionary.com, “enough” means “as much or as many as required; to the required degree or extent.”

But here’s the thing: I’m not here for enough.
I’m not doing this for enough.

I’m here for the extra. I’m here for the cush. I’m here for success, for legacy, for magic, for story, for abundance. Abundance that impacts my kid’s life. That influences the decisions I make around my safety, my joy, my health.

You might feel that way too. Like, “I’m not here to just get by, barely pay my rent.” No. You want a six- or seven-figure biz, location independence, an extraordinary love life, impact, respect. You want to feel like you're doing something.

So let’s be clear: this is not a conversation about how to be mediocre.

Signs You Might Be Overdoing It

Let’s call this out. You might be pushing too hard if:

  • You constantly feel overwhelmed.

  • You’re running on 99% adrenaline.

  • Work feels like being chased by a bear.

  • You’re stuck in decision fatigue or analysis paralysis.

  • You don’t know the difference between urgent and important.

  • You always feel behind—no matter what.

Enoughness is a feeling. Not a finish line.

It’s a carrot that can be dangled one inch in front of us for our entire lives.

Story Time: When I Was Doing Too Much

Back in 2018–2019, I was doing the most.

I was still running my nutrition practice. I had clients.
I was teaching yoga.
I was leading 2–3 international yoga retreats a year—which sounds like 3 weeks of my life, but it was more like a month when you add in travel, prep, logistics, admin.

I was also running a 180-person conference with sponsors and speakers.
And on top of that, I was business coaching and running a mastermind.

Oh, and I was in love. We were moving from Kansas City to Austin. Everything was happening at once.

And I’m a manifesting generator in Human Design. I’m an extrovert. Virgo moon and rising. I come from a family of doers. And when it’s aligned, I love that kind of action.

But it was too much. I didn’t have the systems I have now. I didn’t know what an SOP was. I was just freestyling my business. It was so reactive. We did the things, sure—but at what cost?

I was operating on adrenaline. And I’m sharing this because I’m not someone who’s always been calm and grounded. I’ve been the person doing too much.

The Lie: More Work = More Success

We’ve been sold the lie that more work = more money, more success, more good.

And listen, there is a time to push. Deadlines exist. But it can’t be your default operating system.

The Reframe: Doing Less Can Create More

I currently work 20–23 hours a week. I have a kid in preschool. I literally can’t do more. I could try to squeeze in an extra hour here and there, but we’re super intentional about screen time and don’t have built-in childcare or nearby family.

So my work hours? They’re hard stops. When it’s time to pick up from preschool, it’s over.

Which means I’ve had to ask: How can I make less be enough?

That’s what I want to explore today.

The Four Pillars of Enoughness

Let’s break it down. There are four areas that help you feel enough:

  1. Metrics – your version of enough, especially around money

  2. Systems – structures that give you freedom

  3. Symptoms – how your body and mind reflect enoughness

  4. Celebration & Sign-Off – how you mark completion

1. Metrics: Know What You Actually Need

We all love the idea of six- and seven-figure businesses. But what does it cost to run your life?

Life Budget

This includes rent, health care, groceries, utilities, childcare—your essentials. Not the aspirational stuff. Just the basics.

If you don’t know this number, pause. Pull up three months of statements. Average your spending. Get clear.

Business Budget

Add up software, team, development, taxes, your salary, contractors, etc. This is what it costs to keep your business alive.

Then, combine the two. If your life budget is $2,000 and your biz budget is $2,000, you need to be generating at least $4,400 a month (after taxes) to break even.

You’re not thriving yet—that’s your minimum.

And I’m always amazed at how many people feel stressed about not doing enough without knowing what enough is.

What Actually Moves the Needle?

Let’s talk about your 20%.

Try this:

  • List 5–7 wins you’re proud of.

  • For each, name the one action that catalyzed it.

  • Look for patterns.

You might realize, “Wow, three of these wins came from writing on Instagram” or “two came from public speaking.”

My 20%? It’s speaking (podcast, events, being in the world), and my Elevated Mastermind.

Every day I ask, “How can I make this space more magical?”

That’s where my energy goes. That’s what moves the needle.

2. Systems: Creating Focus and Flow

Once you know your 20%, it’s time to bring structure.

I use my Monday Magic Method (now free!) to:

  • Bold my 20% right at the top: speaking + Elevated

  • Add one rotating weekly focus—something time-bound

  • Review everything weekly

Instead of doing 8 things halfway, I do 3 things really well.

And I use time batching to theme my workdays. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday are for client calls. Friday is my CEO day—no meetings, just strategic work.

I also practice “time pessimism.” If I think a task will take 30 minutes, I block 60. Because when you finish early? You’ve just created time.

3. Symptoms: Feeling the Enoughness

How do you know you’re doing enough?

  • Work feels focused, not frantic.

  • You feel in flow.

  • You’re making money.

  • You’re getting positive feedback.

  • You’ve got white space on your calendar.

And you’re not allowed to check in on results for 3 months. No micromanaging yourself like a boss breathing down your neck.

You’ve picked your 20%. You’ve picked your sprint. Now give it time.

Like with weight loss or investing—you don’t weigh yourself every hour or check your stocks daily (unless you want to be anxious).

Let things build.

4. Celebration + Sign-Off

When you’re self-employed, no one else is saying, “You crushed that!”

So how do you mark it?

I use a Friday check-out ritual in Notion:

  • What were your wins?

  • Where do you need more support?

  • How do you feel?

It helps me notice patterns and then go get what I need.

Then, I log off.

I delete Instagram on Fridays.
I sign out of Slack.
I turn off notifications.
Because if we never stop working, we never start.

The Bottom Line

We do our best.
We celebrate.
We release.

That’s it.

You’re probably already doing enough. Honestly? You’re probably doing too much.

This is your permission slip to do less—with intention, with structure, with joy.
